Welcome

What you read here are true, first-hand accounts of life inside an alternative religious group. What we went through may seem incredible to you. But keep in mind, we were normal, every-day people. Just like you. And we never thought it would happen to us, either.

Tower:18. The Sex

I didn’t know anything about the sex issue except what I’ve already said. I had always assumed that if he was having sex with some of the guys it was mutually consensual. But it was really lame that, after years and years of denying that he had sex and saying he had transcended such low vibrations, we suddenly claimed he was “working with people that have issues with sex.” Look, if there was one person in the group that probably needed to work on sex, it was me. And nothing ever happened with me. It was always with the cute guys. And it was obvious that no one was buying that (except maybe The Harpies) so he started having women take their tops off randomly and say, “See? I work with everyone in the same way. “ Again, that’s the way it works. Total and complete denial as long as that works. And then, when you’re caught, make up a new lie and create the evidence to support that lie. But then STICK to that lie. That was what was so comical at the end. They didn’t stick with the lies. They jumped from one lie to a different take on it every time we met. It was ridiculous. But it can work, as long as people don’t talk. But when people start talking about what they actually know, it all comes out. For instance, Angelo was on the phone with a sister and during the conversation said, “Anyone can make up anything. What if people said I felt up Alexandra when I was giving her Shakti? Then a rumor like that would start going around.” And then, a few hours later when he was talking to Alexandra, he said, “Somebody thought I felt you up when I was giving you Shakti. See how ridiculous the mind is?” And so Alexandra thought, “Oh, it really is like that! People are just making things up. How insane!” But then the two sisters talked to each other and Alexandra finds out that Angelo just made that up in the first place and then started it as a rumor himself. As long as people weren’t talking, that type of thing would have worked. But Lute’s email had changed the dynamic of the group by this time.

Vidal and I were talking to Tiger one day and he said that something sexual had happened between him and Angelo. He didn’t seem traumatized by it. And he didn’t even ask that we not tell anyone. But for some reason, neither of us ever did. After I left the group, I heard that he told everyone that nothing ever happened between Angelo and him. I don’t know what was going on with that. There was no reason to lie to me and Vidal so I have to assume that the recant of the experience was the lie. Maybe to preserve his reputation? Maybe to preserve Angelo’s? (since he is one of “Those Who Remain”) No idea.
